Imagine There is No Country (?)

By : Jannerson Girsang

When I was in the first year of a university in Indonesia in 1980s, I heard John Lennon’s very popular song of “Imagine”. I love the song and still hear in certain time. However, I forget to dig the meaning of the song.

Several days ago, I heard the song and focused on following quotation of lyric below.

……..

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

……

I can not imagine how this world is managed without any country!. I believe John Lennon is still dreamer until this moment.

In fact, new countries are created year by year!. Let see http://s05.flagcounter.com  latest list of countries all over the world as follows:

I love this devided world into countries that make me getting rich in thoughts, ideas of how to create world peace.

"Imagine there is no country"  is not a solution for “Nothing to kill or die for”.

The most important is : “Let us create peace by learning each other that we can love each other, although we live in different countries”.

Through this blog, I have received more than 4000 visitors from more than 50 countries. Every time new visitor comes from new countries, I learn the country and know more about it. Some countries are new to me. By visiting some websites about the countries, I know more about cultures, economic, current politics and  lessons of how they dream, create and maintain peace. I love more people!

It's surely true that 'Imagine there's no country' should make an opinion that John Lennon was perhaps really a dreamer as one thought that imagine how the world will be without any of country...even the fact that every country which entered the world would make someone or perhaps everyone got rich with tought or idea to create such a world peace...

But in this song, I think John Lennon has his own different view about 'Imagine there's no country'....
He should think that imagine there's no country, so the world would be as one, and everyone would live with peacefully... no more war or murder, no mor greed or even hunger....
So if it is true, even John Lennon who has been said as a dreamer, will be sure that he was not the only one dreamer ... coz it's really true ... there's no one in the world who didn't wanna live in peace...

Hehe...sori Jennerson, komentnya jd kepanjangan..., soalnya aku jg salah satu fansnya the Beatles...
